Research Scientist and Assistant Director of Strategic Research Initiatives

Mr. Ajay Singh PhD is a Research Scientist and Assistant Director of Strategic Research Initiatives at the Cline Center for Advanced Social Research. He received his PhD in 2022 from the Department of Sociology at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. His research interests are in policing, technology, and surveillance. Singh’s current work examines the influence of technology in policing operations and in community interactions with law enforcement. He is a mixed-methods scholar, who uses archival research, interviews, observations, and structured event data in his research.
